When Emma & Daniel said they wanted their photos taken in a studio I was so giddy. We spent some time getting to know each other over some coffee at a local café first before heading over to the studio. When I got inside and saw the street lights shining in through the windows and creating a really cool ambient evening setting I knew this wasn’t going to be a normal Peterborough studio portrait session. It pushed me creatively and to use available light and see things in a way I don’t often do. I love that these photos are a little gritty or out of focus because of how dark the studio actually was and how I had to push the limits of my camera. In the end what is important to me is capturing connection and creating art, and nothing is going to get in the way of that!

Here’s the kind of music I had playing during this shoot to help bring out my creativity!
